Synthesis to build coal-to-chemical plant in China |

Synthesis Energy Systems Inc. said Monday it is planning to built a coal-to-methanol gasification plant in China with an unnamed multinational chemical company.
The Houston energy and technology company said the plant will utilize its U-GAS technology to convert coal reserves to a synthesis gas that will later be refined into methanol. As part of the agreement, Synthesis will identify a site location as well as define project design, schedules and costs. Synthesis (NASDAQ: SYMX) is also building two other coal-to-chemical plants in China.
