BEIJING, Nov 14, 2007 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Chinese biotech company 3SBio Inc. ( SSRX.NASDAQ) posted 57.3 percent net revenue rise in the 3rd quarter from the same period of 2006 to 7.5 million U.S. dollars, according to its latest financial report issued on Tuesday.
Particularly, the net revenue from its key product recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) reached 4.8 million U.S. dollars, up 30.7 percent year-on-year. While the net revenue from protein-based therapeutic recombinant human thrombopoietin product (TPO) increased 171.6 percent to 1.9 million U.S. dollars. 3SBio Inc. realized net income of 3.2 million U.S. dollars for Q3, up 151.4 percent year on year. During this period, net earnings per share and per American Depository Share (ADR) stood at 0. 16 yuan and 1.11 yuan respectively, in comparison with 0.1 yuan and 0. 67 yuan for the year earlier period. EPO products continued to maintain market leadership in the second quarter of 2007 in terms of revenue and sales volume in China, with market shares of approximately 36.8 percent and 30.8 percent, respectively, said Jing Lou, chief executive officer of 3SBio Inc. In addition, sales of EPO have been bolstered by newly created oncology sales force.
