Shaw Gets $50 Million Contract in China

BATON ROUGE, La. - Engineering and construction company Shaw Group Inc. said Wednesday it received a $50 million contract to provide engineering services in China.

Shaw agreed to provide engineering equipment and training for Tianjin Dagu Chemical Industry Co.'s new plant in Tianjin, China. The plant will produce an estimated 500,000 metric tons of ethylbenzene and styrene monomer per year, chemicals that are used to make consumer goods and industrial products.

The Tiankin facility will use technology provided by Badger Licensing LLC, a joint venture of Shaw and Exxon Mobil Corp. (nyse: XOM - news - people )

The Tianjin plant is Shaw's largest ethylbenzene and styrene monomer project in China.
