SINGAPORE : SembCorp Utilities, a subsidiary of SembCorp Industries, is investing S$42 million to upgrade its industrial wastewater treatment facilities in Nanjing and Zhangjiagang in China.
The expansion will enable the facilities to double their capacity to treat industrial wastewater so as to meet rising demand. The Nanjing facility, which has been in operation for two years, is located in a chemical industrial park and treats high-salinity wastewater. The Zhangjiagang facility is located in Jiangsu province and treats high-concentration wastewater. The upgrading is expected to be completed by 2008.
